Maritime Commerce and Affairs Insurance

Maritime Commerce and Affairs Insurance

  •        The subject of maritime insurance is marine property, including ships, cargoes and related interests (rent, freight, liability, etc.), it more commonly includes ship insurance, freight insurance, protection and indemnity insurance, and marine cargo insurance. The related parties include ship owners, cargo owners, P&I Clubs, insurance companies, third parties that have suffered losses, responsible parties, reinsurance companies, etc. Disputes often arise in connection with insurance or protection and indemnity liability contracts, as well as insurance subrogation recovery. Our business includes providing legal advice to all the parties of insurance or protection and indemnity liability contracts, dealing with disputes (such as making claims on behalf of the insured and defending on behalf of the insurer, etc.), and conducting subrogation recovery on behalf of the insurer and the P&I Club. Commissioned by P&I Clubs and acting on behalf of their members, we have successfully defended against claimants pursuing recoveries on many occasions.
